Learning from Eco-social Approaches to Public Health
Climate change shows us that local actions can have global impacts, as when local carbon pollution contributes to climate change globally. The reverse is also true, however. Those global climate changes can have dramatic impacts locally, whether through wildfires, urban heat events, floods, tick borne and other infectious diseases, or other impacts.
In this webinar, we will explore why environmental health has to be concerned with global conditions. The session will focus on the challenges to the health of the population in Canada and around the world posed by deteriorating planetary conditions and the role of public health inspectors, environmental health officers and CIPHI in ensuring the health and well being of current and future generations.
